I’ve finally found my calling. Since I began this photography journey in 2013, I’ve been playing around – shooting various events (weddings, birthdays, babies, families, etc.), going wherever my camera would take me.
Each and every second of life as a photographer has been enjoyable, but I’ve felt something was missing. When I had my sweet baby boy last June, I narrowed it down. There’s nothing in this world that makes me happier than fresh, new life! Once I discovered this, I decided it was time to invest in some real-life mentoring. That’s when I signed up for the Kimmy Howard Workshop experience – a 2-day, full-blown, 411 course on newborn photography!
I attended that workshop this past January and was absolutely blown away by the wealth of knowledge Kimmy shared with us. One of the tips she gave was to offer a free, no-strings attached session to one lucky family. It would give us a chance to practice the skills she taught us.
So, once I got back and set up my studio space the way I wanted it, I posted the offer on Facebook. Several people commented, but the Soles family won the session by a long-haul, and boy am I glad they did! It gave me a chance to not only practice my new skills, but also the chance to meet one of the warmest, friendliest families I’d ever met. Meghan and Matt are the perfect duo. Kind, generous, loving…I could go on and on. It may have only been 3-hours, but by the end of the session I felt like they were long-time friends!
And the girls….I didn’t get a chance to meet Madison (as the session I had scheduled interfered with her schedule) but Emma stepped right up to the “big sister” plate! Whenever she heard the slightest peep out of Charli, she rushed to her side making sure her baby sister was doing alright. It was seriously the most adorable interaction I’ve ever witnessed!
Following their departure, I was beyond excited to look through the imagery and even more ecstatic to share it with all of you!
A sweet baby girl was born…and I got to capture memories of her that will last a lifetime!
